CRM 4.0 and Duplicate Detection

Posted by Ozark on March 24th, 2008

One of the greatest aspects of Microsoft CRM is that it maintains customer data.  With this, sales and marketing personnel can get hold of valuable information to understand past and present quotes, communications, and problems associated with a customer. Microsoft CRM integration is a wonderful way in which this system can be linked into existing systems. In addition, you will find that Microsoft CRM comes with a variety of features that make customer relationships more powerful.  Obviously, the happier the customer the more loyal he or she is going to be to your business.

One such feature has to do with duplicate detection, meaning that only data of quality or current data is maintained within the system. By running a special program associated with CRM, this detection system will run in the background.  As it searches, it will provide you with duplications of a specific entry, allowing you to delete or save. Many times, duplication occurs, sometimes as a mere oversight.  While no harm is being done to the customer, the problem is that duplicated data uses space that could be utilized for other, correct data. With this, you can enable the feature while data is being imported so any duplication in data are found before they even make it into the system.
